A Catholic Assessment of Evolution Theory – An origins science enhancer

A Catholic assessment of the Theory of Evolution

John Wynne of Restoring Truth Ministries has published this recent book on origins science matters from a primarily philosophical viewpoint that incorporates the Church's magisterial pronouncements.

The truth shall set you free, and John Wynne wishes to do just that with his publication of A Catholic Assessment of Evolution Theory. This book is a recent addition to the plethora of good Catholic publications on the origins science debate. It is a comprehensive A5 sized paper back book with over 535 pages of material to read & browse. The book format is a wide margin with a font size 11, making it easy on the eyes and gentler on the mind. The pages contain well defined paragraphs, and are punctuated with clear sub headings as well. The angle taken on the origins science debate is primarily a philosophical one; to do with world views. The forward by Stephen Senne gives a very good portrayal of the essence of what is happening in the culture wars today. He illustrates this with an image of a breach in the fortress, and the need to begin repairing this breach.

Real origins science education

A Catholic Assessment of Evolution Theory is one of those books that will evoke a couple of responses by it’s readers. For the initiated, it will be a pleasure and an education at the same time. The initiated will be familiar with the origins science angle the author John Wynne takes. This facilitates a higher learning process, whereby readers will learn the broader context of the origins science debate from a historical standpoint. You will gain real insights into the long developments that have lead to the popularization of Darwin’s theory of evolution. You will understand the long war against God, and will thus be able to circumvent strategies against the Catholic church in terms of your own interior life. You will be able to equip other like minded Christians after reading A Catholic Assessment of Evolution Theory. For those uninitiated in  the origins science debate, this book by John Wynne will literally blow you away. You will be fast tracked into an area of debate, gaining insights where you thought non existed. You’ll never look at theistic evolution in the same light again after reading through some of the many points made in this book. The philosophical nature of this book is easy to grasp, so you will not need a pontifical diploma in philosophy to comprehend the material within. A Catholic Assessment of Evolution Theory is a blend of history, philosophy and science, incorporating the magisterial perspective.

Pro-life blog special

Vigil for Life and Rally for Life head to head

Ireland is the Jewel in the Crown of the Pro-life movement, so much so that in the space of 6 months there will be 4 major events to keep abortion out of Ireland

As Daylight Origins Society recognize abortion as one of the many evil fruits of Darwinian evolutionary world views, we feel it only proper to give an update on the Irish situation. In Ireland the current government seem hell bent on foisting abortion on the Irish nation, despite the strong pro-life culture that exists here. This culture has been under attack for many decades now, with the onset of poor education on origins science matters in the national schools. Another road of attack seems to be stemming from the media, who apparently hold a certain unashamed bias & openness to abortion. The government of course is the most obvious road of attack, with politicians making it clear that they intend to legislate for termination of pregnancy. So how are things panning out?

Ireland – The Jewel in the Crown of the Pro life movement.

Anyone who has studied Haekel’s embryonic diagram, unaware of its fraudulent fabrication, would be at risk of succumbing to false notions. That being, a baby is not human until it has reached an advanced stage of development. The fraudulent embryonic diagram proposed a re-capitulation scheme of evolutionary sequences from fish to man inside the womb. This diagram is used in some of Ireland’s schools books, and is passed off for scientific knowledge. Most school children will not question the wisdom of their teacher, and simply want to pass their exams. They have not developed reflective thinking faculties while still in their formative years. So you would have thought that by now, it was game over on the abortion issue in Ireland. That is, if the unborn is not actually a human until an advanced stage of gestation, then there is no moral dilemma with abortion, is there? Thankfully we’ve had heroic efforts by pro life groups in Ireland who have properly educated the Irish public with the help of generous private donations from citizens. So much so, that even today, but rather precariously, abortion is not legal in the emerald isle. This has earned Ireland the title as the jewel in the crown of the pro life movement. The pro life groups have not had recourse to sound origins science knowledge, and Haeckel’s embryonic diagram is not their focus. But they have shown inadvertently that a human baby looks nothing like what Haekel proposed in his fraudulent diagram.

Abortion legislation on the Political level

Fine Gael used a growingly broken pro-life promise to gain the pro life vote in Ireland, and this they succeeded. Later having done such a major u-turn, their credibility as a party has now eroded significantly. Their determination to foist abortion legislation through parliament may be the most laughable joke ever attempted by an Irish government. Fine Gael are not getting things easy, and thankfully the opposition party have awoken, and are making life more difficult. Even the Irish Labour members of government (who are pro abortion) are hearing objections from within their own party. God is good, and we give Praise and Glory to Him for raising up vociferous pro life groups in Ireland such as Youth Defence who are educating the Irish public actively since 1992. Other groups such as Pro Life Campaign are stepping into the fray. Keep up the great work, and remember the next 2 big & important pro life events in Ireland are June 8th and July 6th. Attend them both and let your voice be heard in Dublin this summer.

Why the importance & focus on Origins Science

What did Eve say to Adam

Did Eve convince Adam to eat from the fruit of the forbidden tree?

You would imagine that there were other topics of interest to cover. Subjects that would be possibly more spiritually nourishing than harping on about origins science, Adam & Eve and the creation account in the book of Genesis. Would it not be better to broaden out the range of subjects beyond the theory of evolution to attract a wider audience? Well it does seem at face value like a great idea. But we have some reservations as to the real value of this. You see Origins Science covers natural science & theology, fusing faith and reason together in a complimentary way. If you don’t have this solid fusion, then the foundation will be wrong. If the foundation is wrong, then cracks will appear in the edifice. These cracks will grow so big, that eventually the church will look like a horrible ruin.

The situation in Ireland

Ireland is going through some particularly tough times in the moral climate with regards the abortion debate, gay marriage and children’s rights. The lack of appreciation for the traditional & literal interpretation of the creation account has led to these quagmires indirectly. Our evangelical brethren who hold fast to the doctrine of creation have recognized the importance of the creation account as the foundation of their Christian faith. They understand innately, that unless you uphold belief and confidence in God’s creation account, then all subsequent scriptural accounts will fall into question. Forsaking scriptural accounts leads to a moral collapse, which seems to be the case at present in Ireland to a certain degree. Faithful Irish Catholics are still fighting on the pro life front. But this fire fighting approach is interfering with their time for faith building. Catholic theologians would do well to avoid theistic evolutionary indoctrination and rediscover Special Creation by fiat as understood by Church Fathers, Doctors, Councils and Popes down the centuries. This will help engender a real faith building exercise, where the Catholic faithful can be fully confident of their Christian heritage. The net result being a stronger pro life lobby.

Origins Science and theology

Daylight Origins Society firmly believe in the need to question the theory of evolution, in light of the disharmony between faith and reason now undermining the Catholic faith. Origins science should not be about promoting new theories, but rather seek harmony with God’s Special Creation account by fiat. Mankind needs to understand and appreciate that God’s inspired words are the lodestar to real science. This enables Catholics to give glory to God, and be good stewards of His Creation. Countering false philosophies such as Darwin’s theory of evolution enables Catholics to see the beauty of God’s creation. With this imbued appreciation for a created order, the moral health of a nation will rise. This is where the battle will be lost or won… The battle of the Origins Science debate. Daylight origins will continue to review and question the theory of evolution in light of pseudo scientific claims, and the theological consequences that generally follow. Follow us on Facebook to keep up to speed on origins science issues.

Daylight Origins Science Magazine has been distributed

Postal distribution of the Daylight Magazine

The Daylight Origins Science magazine is distributed locally from the UK, and internationally from Ireland

When you are involved in a ministry that is completely voluntary, not for profit and spread over 2 countries on the edge of Europe, your bound to improvise. So much so, that we finally sent out our 1st of 3 origin science magazines for the year 2013. This is an exceptional feat considering the amount of work put into DvD seminar production which is now complete and doing the rounds. Daylight magazine is produced in the UK, but distributed from Ireland to save on expensive international postage costs. A batch of new subscribers to the Daylight magazine will now enjoy reading up on origins science matters from a richly Catholic perspective.

Catholic evangelizing in London

The Lord provides, and we thank our Heavenly Father for giving us the mission that is so badly needed in the Catholic Church today. Origins Science of a true nature gives glory to God, and is consonant with His Word on Creation. Our opportunity to make ourselves more known in the UK was granted thanks to Greg Clovis and his Family Life International ministry. Greg gave the Daylight Origins Society officers a stall at a recent evangelization conference in London. To add to this the Daylight editor was invited to a Kolbe Center Seminar in Birmingham. This allowed the origins science debate to get a wider hearing in Catholic circles, where slowly but surely the realization is, that Darwin has had his day.

What does the Catholic church teach on origins science matters

Thankfully the Catholic Church upholds a tradition of a literal interpretation of the creation account in the book of genesis. Most contemporary Catholics can be forgiven for thinking otherwise, as they have been told that the science evolution is compatible with the Catholic faith.  Hugh Owen of the Kolbe Center disagrees, and those of the Daylight Origins Society support Mr. Owen on his view contra theistic evolution. We are grateful for the Kolbe Center for helping our ministry reach out to more sincere Catholics seeking the truth of their faith. We are blessed to have an American speaker who is willing to promote our Daylight magazine, and boost distribution further afield. The recent conferences in London & Birmingham show how two or more mutually benefiting organizations can come together in the name of Jesus, to proclaim truths, and strengthen the Catholic faith.

The future for origins science distribution

We are continually blessed by prayers, networking, and donations, and we look forward to the Lords continuing providential care. We are particularly privileged to have made some new friends from the London conference (Paul, Aline, and Michael – we hope you are keeping well). We thank our Heavenly Father for sending us resources, educating us, and giving us practical gifts for our ministry. With kind donations, we can reach out to the less privileged Catholics in the world, who need to be equipped with the armor of truth. New subscriptions  and donations will help us build on our distribution of what is an excellent origins science magazine for Catholics. Thanks for dropping by and God Bless you for taking an interest in our mission.

Daylight Origins Society’s Origins Science meeting in London

Michael Voris will be in London to give a talk at Saint George's Cathedral Hall in London

Michael Voris is a guest speaker at a Catholic conference in London this May bank holiday.

Daylight Origins Society members from Ireland are travelling to London to meet origins science magazine editor Anthony Nevard. The back drop to this meeting is an exciting Catholic evangelizing conference hosted by Family Life International with guest speaker Hugh Owen. This is an exceptional opportunity to rub shoulders with people who question the certainty of evolution. This will be a breadth of fresh air for those who hold alternative views on origins science that truly conform to authentic Catholic teaching. Additionally, there will be an amazing chance to meet Michael Voris of  http://www.churchmilitant.tv/  and hear his talk at the conference. We are not suggesting that Michael Voris is not in favour of the theory of evolution, but we do hope to hear his views on the topic.

Origins Science angle

The aim of this London visit is to interview and extract opinion on the theory of evolution within orthodox Catholic circles. It is hoped that we can get more than a handful of respected Catholics of all shades to give a brief prognosis of how they see evolution within their faith structure. The theme for each short interview will be (if we are successful) on the question on origins science. Such short snippets will then be uploaded on Gloria.tv, Kath Tube and God Tube for other Catholics to discern the merits of theistic evolution with regards the Catholic faith. This may help open up the forum on origins science to a larger Catholic body. This in turn will greatly benefit the church founded by Christ our King.

Marketing strategy of Daylight Origins Society

We aim to market the Daylight origins Science magazine, as well as promote our recently produced DvD seminar and audio CD. Perhaps a twin interview with Hugh Owen and another key guest speaker will be on the cards, and make for an exciting promotional DvD seminar for future purposes. It seems that the sky is the limit, and with the grace of God, we believe it will be.

The evolving situation of origins science education

Do Guerrilla and man have a common ancestor origins science wise?

The guerrilla is caged in, perhaps now it time to call on the power of evolution to help the poor fellow develop an escapade anatomy feature...

Daylight Origins write John mentioned some years ago how in Ireland, the creation evolution debate was optional for teaching in Irish schools. This was a surprise, as it seemed that this syllabus model was what was wished for by Creationists and Intelligent designers in the U.S.A and the UK. Recently a young Irish student made inquiries with Daylight Origins Society on origins science matters, for her creation evolution project. This confirmed what John had earlier claimed, which was welcoming news indeed.

The consequences of having a creation evolution syllabus on Origins Science at school level.

Having a creation evolution syllabus is a good thing, in so far as it raises questions against evolution. But this can also be a bad thing, if students are not sure where to look. Additionally if the teacher is against any ideology opposed to evolution, that may translate into the course at an undetected level. Most students are interested in doing well in their assignments, and the idea of truth seeking or deep researching is not always a priority. But ideologies can have life long consequences as to how we live out the rest of out lives. Believing in evolution brings with choices that may not be entertained by a creationist or an intelligent designer.

Contemporary Ireland is suffering from a lack of solid origins science education

With the onslaught of strange ideologies now entering the Irish political arena, the most obvious concern is the lack of mature discernment on matters of morality. Abortion, gay marraige, and children’s rights are being bandied about almost like inalienable commodities. People are either completely against, or somewhat open to aspects of these ideologies. Roll back a few years and such strange ideologies were unthinkable. But the erosion of morality in Ireland is of no surprise with the rise in evolutionary dogmatic-ism. This brought home to us what Daylight Origins founder John Campbell had mentioned in his early newsletter in relation to Ireland. He mentioned back in the late 1970s that Irish parents were unaware of the material that would undermine the then Irish culture. To help illustrate this, a recent pro-life gathering in Dublin central showed much support for protecting mother & child. But many Irish people are also now not so sure what position to take.  Some are even becoming unashamedly pro-abortion. The Irish pro-life culture seems to be in need of good and Godly origins science education.

The pro-life culture and origins science

A pro-life friend told us how she had done the science & religion syllabus  while we were at the Dublin central pro-life gathering. Hearing of her account, we realized that yes, Ireland badly needs more students to take the creation evolution syllabus as part of the Leaving Certificate. This indeed will help raise up more pro-lifers in Ireland if they are aware that evolution truly is not the only show in town. Give us the strength to stand up and be counted for a renewal of the Catholic faith in Ireland and shore up the Irish pro-life culture.
